The G-Dragon x Nike Kwondo 1 “White” is a collaboration between the South Korean hip-hop artist and Nike that introduced a new silhouette to the brand’s footwear collection in December 2021. The Nike Kwondo 1 is named after the Korean martial art of taekwondo, and its design is inspired by several footwear styles, most notably brogue-style dress shoes, Stefan Janoski’s Nike SB Janoski line, and ‘90s-era football cleats. This is evident from the perforations found along each panel, the overall shape of the shoe, and the overlapping tongues, respectively. The white monochromatic colorway features tonal Swoosh branding on either side and dual “Nike” and “Peaceminusone” logos on the left and right tongues, respectively. An embroidered daisy detail on the heel is a nod to G-Dragon’s logo. More classic, formal-looking footwear inspires the look of the shoe’s white rubber sole. Release date: December 3, 2021
